Removing E-clips in Fishing Reels

One of the frustration parts of working on reels are those damn e-clips that hold down the reel handles and drive gears for the worm gear.  One false step and they are lost in space.  I generally order extras for this reason.  However, at $1.09 each, it starts to add up!

A solution is to place a small amount of Cal’s grease on top of the clip so that it covers it completely accept for one of the two small spaces where your small screw driver will be inserted between the e-clip and the securing point.  Gently twist the screwdriver.  E-clip comes lose and stays stuck in the grease.  Problem solved.
